The Shorea Resort, Seremban a NO-NO

So, I pay a visit to The Shorea , Seremban Mid January 2018 with my mum  , for a short getaway, won it from a Contest.  The Shorea was located in the middle of a jungle sort of place and its just about 1 hours drive from  Kajang.

I was suppose to call the GEM (the person that will guide you and help you throughout your stay ) after I pass a primary school, but I decide to  just call them when I reach their gate, big mistake! In their email, they had given advice not to enter even if the gate is open cause there has been cases where customer got lost in the vast estate. However, there was NO line at all when I reached their main gate, and I did not want to make a u-turn to the school so I made a gamble and enter the estate, luckily, there were signs to lead the way, so I reach the Shorea without contacting my GEM . Below picture is a muddy road leading into The Shorea. The tar road leading to this road is also a narrow one, zig-zag so you have to be careful, and only 1 car allow at one time, but not much traffic so you do need to worry, just sway to the side of the road if there is vehicle from the opposite direction.

And another thing to add, they do not even have the key to open their gate??!! I actually watch them lifting the gate by the edge to allow me to drive in , and the same thing occur when I was leaving the resort. Seriously? You guys lost the key? PIC of the key gone? No spare key? Its really funny looking at a resort charging so much for the stay and all ( I got it for free, but others pay so much) , and yet they cannot even open the gate properly. I actually recorded the whole thing. haha

Stayed in Villa Kemboja for one night. ( The cheapest Villa at RM530 per night, include breakfast)

Here are some pictures taken in my room . What I love about the room is that is is located at one of the highest point of the Resort , I get to see the view a little bit clearer. Their whole interior design in the resort is very nature friendly, wood carvings and usage everywhere. On the day I went, there were people doing some photoshooting over here, they brought their own furniture and rent The Shorea for picture taking .

All things to know while visiting The Shorea.

Balcony (nice view)

Bed with mosquotoes net

You get to bath under the sun and trees!

One thing about the Pantry that I like is its located just next to my bedroom, no sharing with other people, very spacious, sadly it was raining and I doubt anyone actually does cooking when they come for a vacation. So basically, the stove is a waste. They have a mini fridge too. They have all the utensil if you want to cook your own meals. I am not sure weather they do keep up with the quality and the cleanliness because I find the pantry area/ kitchen to be quite dirty , cups and cutting board were left under the element, stove quite dirty, sugar meant for your tea of coffee was filled with ants.

They also have an open pantry below. Just located beside Villa Halia.

They do have a barbeque pit for you to rent.

Capturing shots to be remember in future.

The view was ok. I will not said that it was amazing but it was just nice. The roofs on both other         house were blocking the overall scenic view, it was not that cold. The temperature was around 20-22 degree .

White cumulus clouds
I like their hanging lamp though

Dinner on the balcony with a nice view to accompany.

Another cons staying here is the lack of Internet. They was zero line connection (I am a digi user, data not working at all ), they do have their own Wifi, but somehow their line was not working either. It shows full bar connection and STRONG, but I could not go into the Internet. So basically, the whole night you do not get to on online . ok, maybe there is a bit of connection, it took like 20 minutes to sent out ONE whatsapp message. Oh, and did I mention, no TV too! I asked the staff about the connection failure, he just simply states that maybe the rain earlier cause the connection to broke/ something like that. So yeah, got tooooo boring , and I did not bring my laptop or hardisk , so I went for a dip in the pool. First time swimming at night.

Ok, I get it. This resort was meant for couples, honeymoon location , to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, but I think the WIFI should have been working at least in case someone gets bored/ and you basicallly cannot read at night too. The lamps and lights were too dim, but you can enjoy the insects sounds.

Next morning, we had Nasi Lemak Breakfast. It comes with the room. Breakfast was delicious, but I have tasted better sambal.  It was nice having my meal on the balcony, hearing the birds chirping and the sun shining. It was nice!

More pictures taken at Villa Kemboja.

And then another dip into the pool. Personally, it looks quite nice in the picture , but in reality, to me, the scenery was just a so-so. Its not great.  Oh they do have hibiscus blooming . That's all. A little bit sad considering that the resort is located at higher altitude, in the jungle , chilly weather, so normally they should have grown some flower to beautify the place.

Besides, Villa Kemboja, they have other Villa's too.

Villa Halia

Villa Bougainvilla
They also have more bigger villa that can acccomodate more people at The estate, they even have their own pool.
Estate

Sore eyes part. I find this resort really dirty and definately need to improve in their hygiene part. Curtains got stains and its so disgusting. How could they just left it for the next customer?

Oh and the carpet that was placed in front of the bed, I am not really sure if they do vacuum after each customer visit, because it definately felt dirty and things sticking on my leg when I step my foot on it.

Shower curtains also dirty, Buck up please.

The top part of mosquitoes net was dirty with lizard shit, that's bad!

For more information regarding this resort, press the link : The Shorea

They have the price and details of everything that you will need to know before going on this trip, and the activities like jungle trekking that they provide (need to pay) , and what else to do  while you are at there.

I would rate my visit this time 5/10 only. It lack in cleanliness and the Wifi breaking down really ruin the trip. The view was not as breath-taking or as pretty as they described on their web. Before you guys judge me and say that I should be thankful for getting to stay for free and all that, then again, I write this review base on what I had experience during my stay , and giving a glimpse of what to expect or weather they will improve in future .

This blog is no way sponsored by The Shorea , it is purely my own review and thoughts on my visit to their Resort. No harms were done on all the pictures taken.

Till then,
Cheers.
