So I got into Fasasi!! Fasasi are those people you see during the Minggu Haluan Siswa, those sukarelawan students that helped the school during the orientation week.
I actually went for the interview and got it. So yup, to cut the story short, I decided to just give it a try and got for it.
We have a total of 5 TOT sessions, TOT stands for Teaching of Trainers , where we will be trained and equipped with the basic knowledge for us to perform during orientation week.
TOT 1 went well.
TOT 2 was held at Tapak Perintis, UTeM. To me its quite a let down after getting all excited and knowing that my seniors get to go to Pahang when it was their time. But nope, nope this time. :( Tapak Perintis is located in my uni itself, I did not went to that area before and was quite sad that we did not get to go out from Uni. Budget not enough maybe?
Lets start, day 1. They call it a CAMP. To me, a CAMP is like going on a trip, where we get to stay at least in a hostel, or dorms or places with bed, thats a CAMP to me. But not this time, the camp this time was all about setting up a tent, getting a bath in a problematic toilets with water cutting occationally, thank GOD I did not even shit the 3 days 2 night over there. They said its ok, but for me, sleeping in a tent, under the dark skies, with insect flying in and making those so called claiming nature voices , and getting bitten by bugs, itchy for the next day and all that, how can you call that fun? Yup, so yeah and no lights in the toilet and bathroom during our first night , just great!
But behind those black clouds, I find that rainbows appear even more brightly. I really really enjoy all the activities and planning and everything else done by the TTF (the seniors who are leading the whole TOT 2) , from the sharing , to teambuldings , to game and night walking, fun missions, explorace where we walk around UTeM under the bright sun! Yup, got my first sunburn of the year too. The main part that I really enjoy during this whole process is the bonding session, where we all get to know each other even more, where we give support, we did all those crazy and fun dance together, we cheer when someone go up and get nervous while they are speaking, we laugh when someone make those silly annoying little jokes. Those small things that are done together, those are the moments that I find really close to my heart and also the main objective in this whole TOT 2.
There were a light confusion and dramatic event occur during the Night Walking, but all things went well the next day and everyone is back in 1 piece, the Fasasi Family.
SO yeah, I really enjoyed and thankful for this experience, Cut out the Toilet and camp part, and also there was one meal where we have to eat together on a DULANG , which is normal for the melays but not me. We actually have to eat on the same plate, four of us , that was an eye opener for me and I think I will never ever get used to eat that way. Even eating using my bare hands is already a big No, but at least I tried and I know so yeah. Sorry to my Melay friends because that is really new for me , and in my eyes, its a little bit unhygienic with the knowledge of knowing that the saliva will go around everyone and all that.
TOT 2 was interesting. Meet so many new people, make so many new friends. On top of all I just wanna thank my group members for taking care of me, and for everyone for helping me and supporting me and sharing their knowledge and fun stuff!
To be given the opportunity to join this TOT 2 , I am very thankful but to tell the truth, I would not have gone again because I do not think I can survive another day is that hot humid tent . Call me a baby but I am gonna be honest, I hated sleeping in those tent and will never be doing it again if possible. And nope, food and hands still a big No for me. But I really really do enjoy the other parts of the event, enjoy so much that I do not mind doing it again.
To the upcoming juniors or seniors who are reading this, sorry for being a spit of a spoil-brat. This is just my personal experience and what I think of this TOT 2 session, it might be different for you because everyone react to a situation differently.
TOT 3 coming up next!
Been hearing to 漂向北方 Stranger In The North , go hear it, it's a music close to heart of mine.
Till then,
Cheers.
