Another visit to 57 Hotpot & Asian Cuisine

Another visit, another dissapointment.  57 Hotpot & Asian Cuisine at IOI CITY MALL< PUTRAJAYA . My previous visit can be found here : http://darrendungeon.blogspot.my/2016/03/57-hotpot-asian-cuisine.html

What can I say, expected way better than the first time I visit, but food was a little bit dissapointing to me, now regretting not trying and ordering hotpot for dinner.

So, my parents and I went to this outlet. There was only 2 tables the entire course, including my table. The place was quiet, service was friendly but I think they are a bit stingy , they placed just a small piece of tissue for each person, and the tissue looks like it had been torn to half , I mean, c'mon, yous guys really need to save the tissue that much? Seeing this makes me pity and I did not even want to request or asked them if they can give me another piece, if this is the service you have for your customer, do not expect them to come back for a second time. Normally, fine dining restaurant like this should at least provide tissue box for each table, if not, at the counter or somewhere obvious, so that customer can take more if they need, but NOT here.

We ordered their signature 57 Spicy Grill Fish. Firstly, the dish that served did not looked like it was grilled at all, maybe the broth have covered it.  Taste wise I am not an expert but I absolutely did not enjoy it, my parents were okay with it, the fish was cooked and the broth looked spicy, rich and aromatic. But for me, the taste of the broth itself is really hard to take in. Maybe because I do not usually eat this kind of fish dishes. My mum said the chef who made this used a lot of spices that normally used in Melay cooking.

57 Spicy Grill Fish (RM 51.90 )

Too much broth, is this even suppose to cover the whole fish :(

Kangkung Belacan actually taste alright for me. Its not the normal one you get in restorans where the Kang Kung is fry in a pan, flung up and down and super oily that type, the one they serve actually looked like home made Kang Kung, Not bad.

Luckily I did ordered a Nasi Sambal Ayam, the sambal is tasty, nice and frangrace to the way I like it, chicken was cook perfectly, overall this item is delicious, maybe because I was too hungry too, the taste and flavour is there. They serve along with some brownish meat (I think its something like beef, mutton ) , it did not taste that well

Fresh Watermelon to go along with all this, I did ask them not to add any additonal syrup because I wanted all fresh and natural juices.

After that, went for dessert at Madame Waffle. I ordered their MAdame Waffle Signature, delicious indeed! No regrets at all!
The was no customer coming in during the whole duration I was there, maybe because it is monday, or the price is a bit expensive, is this place is gonna survive, they seriously need to improve and buck up their service .

57 Hotpot & Asian Cuisine

So, this visit to 57 Hotpot & Asian Cuisine Restaurant at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya is a little bit disappointing.

Atmosphere is nice as there was not much customer. Ambience is thumbs up and I love their decoration theme using the peacock.

Wanted to have my palce at the cage, but they said it is for the manager?! Alright, even after we finish out meal, the cage is still empty..sienzzz . So you gonna reserve the cage for the manager the whole lunch time course, I see....

Those small wooden pieces surrounding the CAGE

Our order came late, about 35 min in total , seeing that the number of customer is so little, expected that it could be a bit faster. Maybe they needed more time to de-froze the lamb.

We ordered appetizer which is Handmade Crab Dumpling 3 pieces for RM14.90 , yes, you got it right, 3 small piece for that size. More salt to the wound, the size they serve on and is totally different with the one on their menu list. Can see below. However, thankfully, the taste it there, the chillie is nice, I think I could get so much more with the same price elsewhere. Filling is nice, the crab meat can be tasted. One mouth full for one piece. Its something like popiah.

I ordered Fresh Water Melon juice, so sweet, my bad, forgotten to ask them not to add sugar,my fault on that.
Fresh Water Melon juice (RM 8.80 )

Went there for lunch. I ordered their famous and signature Chinese Pepper Grill Lamps Ribs (150g),
taste wise is alright, a little bit spicy and some heat, sadly portion was quiet small than I have imagine, the fats were too much, even my mum said that the amount of fats comparing to the size of the meat is a lot. The french-friends were smaller size type which I prefer also but they sprinkle too much salt over it. Too bad.

Left - The total fats taken out Right-One of the ligaments/bone

Their Beef Goulash with potato taste nice. Spices well used, a punch of flavour , along with the rice is indeed a good combination. The potatoes where cruncky and nice.  The beef is nice and tender, this dish is alright.
Beef Goulash with potato (RM 32.80 )

Overall , my experience here is not that great, was not satisfy of my grill lamb, wifi not available.  However I just find out that there is vacancy over here, so yeah, gonna apply and hopefully get it.

Thumbs Up: Waiters were friendly, place is clean, no service tax, only GST

OLDTOWN White Coffee Ramadhan Dish Review

Ok, so I went for a Ramadhan food review at One City Mall, USJ. As I was allowed to bring a friend along, I decided to ask my ex-classmate from my secondary school - Kuhanesh,  to tag along for the day.

We reached One City about 1pm, and found out that there were parking places outsides, do not have to pay for it. yeah! Then we went to OldTown White Coffee . One City mall and also offices is kinda eco-friendly , there was no aircond in the building, and the sunlight was able to penetrate from the rooftop, so its a but hot. If it rains, it must be cozy.

I actually like the outlet here, as it has a second floor for dining.

Went there and got a short brief from the lady, she showed us the 5 main menus that are going to be on sale during Ramadhan, some of the dish has already been feature in their menu.

Generic -Rendang

Air Bandung
Alright, so we given the Generic-Tumeric dish to try and give some feedback. Form was given to be filled in later.

Looks great!
So we started to enjoy and indulge in great food. This is actually out first time doing food critic, so we actually discuss the flavour , presentation, taste and all that like a pro! haha

So here are the clearer pic of each ingredients on the dish.

Overall, I enjoy this this a lot. The oily rice just have enough softness, and they have raisins too. Bonus mark! The kurma, cucumber were fresh and I enjoy them. However, I did not really enjoy the bbq cuttlefish (sotong) , its a bit hard for me , maybe I do not really like to eat them in this way either. The chicken was nice, would be happy if I get more of the sos thingii. The other skin of the egg a bit plastic-type , not sure how this happen, but the flavours of the sambal were there. The air bandung is not the normal air bandung that I have tasted, its actually like taking cincau and mix with soya. (Maybe too much milk?) However , it is still a good and creative drink.

After finishing, its time to give our comment and fill in the comment form. We really did our survey in a serious matter and give honest comments, haha . (first time doing this kind of stuff ).  Chit-chat and stay for a while ,continue enjoying the air bandung.

Before we leave, they even give us complimentary cash vouchers for our visit next time. So good!!!!

After that, went over my friends place for more catch-up . It was definately a good experience and fun one. I actually decided to try out as I had just finished my STPM retakes, currently finding something to entertain my boredom. Thanks OLDTOWN WHITE COFFEE for the service, keep it up. Its a pleasure!

Lucky Seafood Restaurant

So, my parents and I decided to visit this Restaurant for our dinner, it is located just opposite of my house. Previously, I have seen this restaurant gaining some name on Facebook, people were sharing around  and it was famously known for their giant crabs, lobsters , one of the few eateries you can get in Kajang.

But, we went there at 6pm on Saturday. There was not a crowd yet so it was not noisy. Most of the tables were covered with cloth, we decided to sit at the nearest table, cause its small, and only 3 of us.

Asked for the menu, was not given and entertained, but the boss (i assume) gave his own suggestions, what are their speciality today, so on and fort. We end up ordering (i can't remember, something like Ikan Merah, looks like Talapia ) and the sizzling Toufu . We did not order any fancy crab, lobster , prawns mainly because it will definately be expensive, only the 3 of us and I do not really like to spend time getting the crab meat out.

Ikan Merah (RM56.00 )

Sizzling Toufu (RM15.00)

Sadly, the dish that we ordered taste so-so for me, the fish broth did not have enough flavour, a bit watery to my liking. We normally finish the whole thing, but....

 The toufu taste good.
Sadly, the rice was also quite sticky then the one we normally have at other restaurant.

Then later, while we were waiting for the bill, the customer next table had a bit confusion in his ordering, he went to the counter and later came back with the menu book. OK! So they do have a menu book but did not want bring to us earlier. Only 1 book .

While we were there, I saw one of my school friend. My mum's friend was there too, and they wanted to order a crab dish so the boss took out one of the giant crab to measure its weight , hehe of course must snap lor. Very big and its alive! I think I only saw those in National Geography.

This is the card that they gave us. My guess is they only just shifted here, so its their old name card.
