Taman Seribu Bunga Malacca

I did not have class the next day so I wanted to go and visit some places. Asked my friends weather they want to accompany me but all of them have stuff to do so end up decided not to go .  But I accidentally woke up at 8am the next day, so might as well just go alone.

I visited his place 2 years ago, my sis brought me there. So its actually nice coming back again. The park is so empty , and yeap, I anticipate to see the garden of orchids but sadly, worse than my expectation, there were just one or two of them blooming . The small man made fountain at the entrance is so lifeless, I remember there were tortoise and some fishes on my last visit, but now its just water flowing.

Some pictures taken in the place. There were monkeys swinging on the tree so be careful. Will be spamming pictures taken.

There are a few ponds inside the place, with fishes inside them.
Had a quick breakfast at Cafeteria 2 before going back to my room and sleep.

While writing this, its only 1 month away from my Finals. Time passes too fast! Gonna finish my sem 1 so soon, its feels like just yesterday I came and registered with my parents. So far, life has been great at UTeM . Will be posting some photos on my roadshow to a Children's home on my next blog.

Till then,
Cheers.

Pesta Konvokesyen 2016 UTeM

I did not that there is a Convocation Festival, first time experiencing this. Today i have 3 class, but 2 of them cancelled because our lecturer need to attend the convocation ceremony. Nice!

After our Material class , my friends and me walk to our Dewan Besar, there are so many food stalls selling a variety of food and drinks , some digital stalls, even opening a booth for those housing estate kind of thing, and a lane of stalls selling flowers for the convo too.

We spend about 30 minutes over there, looking at those delicious food, looking at our seniors who graduated that day, and imagine ourselves in four years time.

There were students selling pretty designed rose soap too. RM25 per box. I think their sales were bad as I saw them even approaching those vendor that set up the stalls if they wanted to buy. My friends say that its actually more worth buying these, at least the soaps are pretty and can be used instead of flowers, cause flowers will wilt and die. But what is a convocation without a bonquet of fresh flowers?

Some small activity and contest held over here.

Cool
There was this bubble forming game , wanted to play but needed to pay RM2 , so nah, I skip this.

Just when we decided to head back, there was this samyung challenge , eating the spicy korean noodle. We wanted to see the contestant eating them but sadly Malaysia as normal, they are taking too much time to prepare, we waited for like 10 mins as we saw some contestant on the table already with their plates of noodle ready , but some of the contestant have not even got their noodle yet. We waited a little longer.  Then the MC announce that the contest will start in another 10-15 minutes , so yeah, we did not want to wait anymore so we left.

 Must take class pic .

To be able to be classmates with them, I am blessed.

Hoping we will be part of this convocation in 4 years time.

I stole this shot as i find the girl is pretty and the guy equally handsome. Hahaha
Till then,
cheers.

UTeM English Week 2016

This is the first time I am joining English Week at UTeM and its quite fun (mainly because I won some cash, hahaha )

Picture taken from UTem English Week 2016 Facebook page

So this year their theme is Let's Connect, Engage and Experience. As you can see, throughout this period there were many contest and activities held and organized , both equally fun and in the same time wanted to help students to improve and increase the usage of English language among students in University.

I joined Creative Minds Writing Contest and also Best Selfie Contest (by chance ) , both consolation, I wanted to join Scavenger Hunt too but they said its full.

Winning the Selfie contest was total shock, cause there we too many entries , maybe my caption was better. Actually did not plan to join this, I actually asked the girls in my class to enter this but they were reluctant, until I saw a post on UTeM English Week that states the contest will end at 5pm and it was 4pm at that time. As I was in the library with one of my friend, I just randomly took a pic and posted. I glad I did. Time to treat him later.

I was suppose to attend the closing ceremony on Thursday at 2pm, but then my RESPONSIBLE math lecturer decided to hold a class exactly that time, because the day before he cancelled the class .

Not gonna post here how much cash I won, but I think the way of them rewarding us by giving us cash is a thumbs up! I rather take the cash and buy something I really need then having them giving me books, notes , files and those student-needed-material .

Here's my essay. We were suppose to choose from the theme 1.LOVE 2.Friendship
And obviously I wrote on LOVE.

      LOVE IS BLIND
They say love is blind. But who can defines what true love is? There is love between couples, there is love between parents and their children , the love for religion, the love to explore , the love that worth sacrifice for. You see, love is just a matter of perspective and how it is expressed by a certain individual.
Now I am going to tell you a story, a story about how love can be so fragile, how love can be so easily disguise, how love can be there yet not seen by the naked eyes of human, how love changed my life.
“Go in your bedroom now and complete your homework, don’t you dare make even a noise or else no dinner for tonight, you had caused enough trouble for me today’’ she shouted as I quicken my pace, passing the tidy living hall, as I entered my room. I caused trouble in school again today. Rebecca my classmate called me an ugly duckling and I hit her on her forehead with my bottle. Mum was called and I saw her apologizing on my behalf, while I got fidgety sitting on the chair, desperately wanted to leave. Since birth, I know I am different. By the looks and judgmental eyes of others, I know I will not fit in this world. You see , I have this big horrendous ugly scar that covered half of my face. It is like Beauty and the Beast, and I wanted so badly to be Beauty.
I was treated different  all the times, but God must have been a fair God, because both my parents still shower me with love and the joy every child deserve. But not in school. Since the first day I stepped into kindergarden, I know I am living in a cruel world. The others kids look at me as if I am a monster from some horror movies, they did not want to play with me. When I enter into primary, many of them turned their backs on me. When I entered secondary, the girls in my class either act as I do not exist and the mean girls will picked on me for no apparent reasons. No guys wanted to be friends with me. I got sneers and glares everywhere, every time. Yes, I did get everyone’s attention, but not for the right reasons. I have not being to any fancy birthday parties as I was not invited at all , did not join the graduation prom in Form 5  as I have always being insecure with my looks.
My world became better after I befriended this guy on Facebook, he has been lending his ears to me , he is the person I run to when I have no one to talk . Through daily chats and online video chatting, I can see that he is a charming  guy, with intelligence and manners that fits a prince, had good sense of humor and apparently he told me that looks does not matter and that he have feelings for me, that he finds me so special and different from the other girls that he know.
He requested for us to meet. I hesitated but he gave me assurance and I gave in. We decided to meet at a park nearby my house at night. That night ,there were hundreds of stars that hung high above the pitch black sky.  The park was so big but sadly empty with people. The street light that which was the only source of light in that park, flickered once a while , illuminating the beautiful guy that is standing just 15 feet away from me, he smiled slyly at me. He was there. He was in front of me.
The first look into his eyes as a person in front of me, it was not love at first sight, but there were fireworks in his eyes. I was anxious at first, we began chatting, he made me feel that I am worth something and worth fighting for. He likes that I am different. He made me feel strong. He made me feel secure. He was like the gush of wind that blows away my cloud of worries and troubles. He made me look at my flaws as it is so insignificant and small.
We meet up more often after that day, going out for dates as a couple, not to shopping mall and movies that often because I still do get uncomfortable with the stares from others, instead we go for stars hunting and promised to go to Iceland,  to get a glimpse of those beautiful Aurora.
We are now married for 11 years, blessed with twin girls. Those vivid images of me being shut down by others, being bullied by the bad guys still exists but I managed to climb up to be an executive manager at a company I am currently working and using my own money to set up a NGO organization to reach out to those that face similar problems like me. I believe in myself even more now because he have been my pillar of confidence. They said love can change a person.
Yesterday, before going to bed. I asked him again why did he choose me , the ugly duckling instead of the pretty swans out there . He whispered : “ They say love is blind “.

Normal looking essay. Expected ending :)

And yesterday after our final paper for mid-term , my friends,  of my senior and me visited BBQ Plaze (non halal ) at AEON BANDARAYA MELAKA , we stayed till quarter pass 11 in the mall . Its nice hanging out with them.

And some random shots taken this week .

Mistiest night

So Handsome!
Till then, cheers.

Rakan Muda Jelajah Kampus at UTeM (Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka)

Today is a Monday and there is this Jelajah Kampus event thing that was held at my University. For starters, the date seems to be so wrong. Today is Monday, but the time for the activity is from 10am-7pm which means it will definately clash with our lecture time. But oh well, after I finish my Math and Material lecture, my friends and I went over to out Stadium Sukan which is where the whole event was held.

Crowd was there. There were too many cars and buses. I heard that some UPSI student also came into our Uni for this event.

There were actually many  workshops happening throughout the day. I manage to go for 2 of them. So yeah.

The first workshop that I went for is the cup design workshop. I was actually very excited with this one but it was kinda a let down for me. The pen that we were suppose to use to draw on the cup was not really good, the ink comes and goes, and we have to keep shaking it , and even causing the ink to splatter everywhere. I end up just quickly wrote a few words then decided to bail on it.

Set Your Dreams and Targets as high as the SKY
After that, I walked around while my classmates took their turn to design their mug. I wanted to go for the small bench making workshop but apparently there were no one around. So yeah. Then I joined the Soap Workshop.

Pic Credit : Christine
Ignore the girlish looking pink gloves, they are there to protect our hands in case something goes wrongs. This workshop is actually quite fun and the amount of ingredients used is so generous. I enjoy a good 2 hours over here. The lady is super friendly and I think if you guys reading this, if you guys need a small workshop like this for your own personal event , I would highly recomment you guys to call up and give it a try.Its quite easy, fun and interesting!

Here is their facebook : LOO LOO SOAP

I am suppose to let it chill for one day then cut it. After that, I will need to let it be for 1 month .
Black Charcoal (regretting not putting more, its so greyish! ) -Lavender soap
She even gave every one of us a free customized soap.

And certificate. HAHAHA

There are tote bag design workshop and also book hardcover design workshop (RM5 ) as well.

And here are my classmates. Some of my guy friends are pretty envy of me because they said that the three girls in my class are so pretty. Well, what can I say, I am blessed.

The other 4 people in the picture will be part of my story for the coming four years, and hopefully when the times comes, 5 of us will be in the same hall, wearing the graduation robe and cap , and finishing out degree together.

I just came back from the first Spring Festival Meeting, gonna study my material and sleep.

Till then,
Cheers.

Bojio ?

Been going out of UTeM for the past two days with my senior Steven and some of my classmates. It was definately fun !

On Wednesday, We went and had our dinner at Windmill cafe, its just at Bukit Beruang and nearby MMU corner. Initially we wanted to go for a buffet at SUYA but it was closed ( no thanks for going at 3pm ), then we wanted to go and eat pork but it was closed too so we end up going Windmill. Much fun for me but not my wallet.

Yesterday we went to Aeon, the one beside Melaka Sentral, we went and eat the Sifu Wok if not mistaken. Their speciality is their cheese on rice with one type of meat. I ordered the one with Beef. It tasted great actually, but the longer you eat, you will get bosan quickly because the cheese is too overwhelming.  My wallet bleed again :(

We went for dinner and Big Bowl Ice. I got Matcha with fruits that cost RM9.10 . I considered it not bad as my ice shave was matcha green and not just the dripping that is green in colour. I did not take any pics but here is their famous big bowl.

And I have been going to my UTeM library even more frequently, mostly to read the free newspaper and also watch movies from my laptop. Now that I know I can rent the Audio Room or the Carrell rooms , I have been doing it on every trip . One person is only allow in each room , its your personal room, where you can hear music or watch movie or sleep without the need to distract others. Its free to rent and you can extend for every 2 hours.

Now for some Uni life, my koko that I choose is some Kesihatan thing. I didnt know what I was suppose to choose and I randomly just pick this. 1 credit hour. So far so good, its only sitting and hearing and knowing more about health stuff , its on wednesday night from 8-10pm. Luckily I wasn't alone, my classmates Christine also got into this koko. So, we can chit chat if it gets boring, but usually she will be doing exercises and me feeling guilty for not been as hardworking as her.

Picture of Lestari's cafetaria

Been reading a lot of articles on Facebook on how Uni student struggle in their academics and just words of encouragement to ask us to stand on and continue because where is success if there is no hard work. i particularly liked this simile , it states the same fire can melt a butter but hardens an egg.

Today (14/10/2016 ) is a public holiday in Malacca , I got no class yesterday too but I decided not to go back this week as I will be having a one week break starting next week.

Till then, Cheers.

Mountain Where I Run

Its been 1 month. 1 FREAKING month since I stepped into UTeM. I did not get homesick as I think I would, thanks to the holidays and breaks ( Hari Raya Haji, Malaysia Day, Awal Muharam) , I went back home once a fortnight.

Just completed my first Japanese Test and Maths Engineering test, I think I did quite well, haha thanks to some leak question and so on. Getting suited over here really fine so thats great.

I got into Sales and Marketing for the upcoming Spring Festival. That's a suprise! I just knew I suck at the interview and was already dejected, and just comforting myself that its ok. If you know me, I do  not really do ''charity'' works, mainly involving myself just to get the merits and benefits. But somehow, during the first week of orientation, I changed this mindset. I just did not want my Uni life to be black and white, I want to get involve into something, maybe something small, something manageable , something that I think I can do well. I think this is actually the first time I involve myself in, knowing that I will need to put effort and time , and there will no be a guarantee reward, instead I might just find myself facing troubles and stress all the way. But hey, YOLO , I just wanted to try, just wanted to experience something new.

I remember going to the interview with a thumping heart, not because I was scared or nervous or any sort, I was rushing from place to place and I did not want to wait for the interviewer (senior ) in case  they decide to take a break. I heard from my friends , some of them waited like super long about 1 hour plus , or maybe the senior in charge of a certain bureau is not around, so the interview will be on standstill until they are back.

Normal procedure, that is introducing myself, speak of my strength and weakness ( I suck in Chinese, so I did it in English ) . Then the senior asked me if unfortunately this year sales was too bad that they require me to go door by door , just to push the sales , will I be willing to do it? I actually hesitated for a while but finally I said ''NO'' . I remember he asked me another time for reassurance , I did not change my answer. I really cannot imagine myself going door to door and knock and asked them to buy the tickers, if they open a booth (which is a normal thing) , I will most certainly do it. But no, not door to door sales. That was my first flaw. Then he asked me if I did not get into the Bureau of Sales and Marketing , will I be willing to enter other Bureau. Again, I said ''No'' . Not that I did not want to join others, its just that I know my strengths and I do not want to force myself into doing something that I did not want when I have a choice. That was my second flaw. I think the interview lasted only 2 minutes. That's all.

Exiting the room, I knew my chances were slim. But I just smile when my friends asked me and said that if its God's will, then I will get it, if not, so be it. I actually got it!!! I think they recruited me because I am  the only one from my faculty that interviewed for that bureau . So yeah, lucky me!

Just went for the first meeting on the Monday that just passed, it was okay. Everyone is super friendly so yeah, I think its a good start maybe?

Anyway, been hearing to  Sarah McMillan -King of My Heart .
Non Stop.

Tomorrow I have Statics quiz and here I am wasting my time away.

Till then.
